Join local author Jean McSorley for a fascinating talk based on her book Mud, Mayhem & Moneymen: The Making of Barrow Town 1840–1890.

Discover the story of Hindpool and Central, once home to most of Barrow's population, and explore the rapid growth of housing, industry and the docks that shaped the town we know today. Find out how the challenges and opportunities of building a town from scratch still influence life in Barrow.
