Led by Major John Howard, men of the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry storm their way across Pegasus Bridge, just after midnight on the morning of 6 June 1944. In capturing the bridge, it prevented German armour from crossing the bridge to attack the eastern flank of the landings at Sword Beach.

Then…

Shortly after D-Day, the free movement of Allied troops over the Caen Canal heralds a significant triumph in the campaign to liberate Normandy. Just days before, in the early hours of 6 June, elements of the British 6th Airborne Division captured the strategically important Bénouville bridge, later renamed Pegasus after their flying horse emblem.

📢New Release.🔥TURN OF THE TIDE by Anthony Saunders — Late on the morning of D-Day, 6 June 1944 and with the amphibious landings well underway, rocket-firing Typhoons from 181 Squadron race along the shoreline having just attacked enemy coastal batteries targeting the invasion beaches.

Their attacks helped clear the way for the largest amphibious operation in history, supporting the men who were fighting and dying on the beaches.

For months that followed, the Typhoon would become one of the most feared aircraft in Europe, earning a formidable reputation as it tore through armour, transport and troop concentrations across Normandy.

On 14th October 1943 - a date forever remembered as ‘Black Thursday’ - the battered survivors of the US Eighth Air Force returned from the devastating raid on Schweinfurt.

Facing relentless fighter attacks beyond the range of es**rt protection, the losses suffered that day were immense. Yet despite the odds, the crews pressed on, striking their targets before fighting their way home across occupied Europe.

In ‘Returning from Schweinfurt’, renowned aviation artist Robert Taylor captures the closing moments of that mission, as weary B-17 crews of the 92nd BG return to England after one of the most costly operations of the air war, during WW2.

✅ Recently released, this powerful new Collector’s Edition stands as a tribute to the courage, resilience, and sacrifice of the men of the Mighty Eighth.

✨ Up to FIFTEEN genuine WW2 signatures!

✍️ Personally signed by B-17 Veterans + mounted to include the additional original autographs of prominent B-17 pilots and aircrew.

🔍 These include legendary men such as Curtis LeMay who lead the first Schweinfurt-Regensburg mission, his Navigator Ralph Nutter, Kemp McLaughlin who was the Lead Pilot on the second Schweinfurt raid, Robert Shoens who took part in the first USAAF daylight mission to Berlin, and Medal of Honor recipient William Lawley.
