Embroidered viscose threads upholstered with cotton

Created by Estúdio Rain in collaboration with São Paulo-based artist Gabriel Pessagno, this unique wall sculpture brings together embroidery, upholstery and textile experimentation.

Imagined as a hybrid, dreamlike plant, its elongated forms are upholstered in cotton pigmented with coffee, while delicate viscose threads in soft white, pale yellow and lilac create an ethereal, almost weightless presence.

Trained in Haute Couture Embroidery at Maison Lesage in Paris, Pessagno brings exceptional textile craftsmanship to the collaboration. Suspended against the wall, the work oscillates between botanical form and fictional creature, while the movement of its colorful fringes subtly evokes the ribbons and textile ornaments found in Brazilian folkloric celebrations.

A poetic encounter between craft and imagination, nature and culture.

In 1964, Geraldo de Barros founded HOBJETO, one of the most ambitious industrial furniture companies in the history of Brazilian modernism.

More than a manufacturer, HOBJETO became a laboratory where design, art and industry converged. After the pioneering experience of Unilabor, de Barros embraced industrial production without abandoning the constructive principles that defined his work: clarity, functionality and accessibility.

For twenty-five years, he designed countless furniture collections while transforming the factory into an extension of his artistic practice. He even built a personal studio inside HOBJETO, where his final Formica paintings were conceived using the very same industrial techniques that shaped his furniture.

We are pleased to present a curated selection of original HOBJETO pieces currently available through the gallery.

Architecture Inspiration 🌀
The home of Brazilian artist Adriana Varejão is a remarkable dialogue between architecture, landscape and collectible design.

Originally designed by Oscar Niemeyer in 1969, the residence was meticulously restored and expanded by Siqueira + Azul Arquitetura , preserving the architect’s vision while adapting it to contemporary living.

Surrounded by the lush landscape of Rio de Janeiro, the house reflects the timeless elegance of Brazilian modernism, where architecture, art and iconic design exist in perfect harmony.
