Five days. Three artists. Works you won't find again.

Today marks the opening of the Parcours de la céramique — for five days, our Paris gallery becomes a place to hold, not just look at, contemporary Korean ceramics.

Every piece in this selection is thrown by hand, one at a time. No two are alike, and once they're placed, they're not re-editioned.

This week we're introducing the hands behind the work: Kim Deokho and his unrepeatable Vestige surfaces, Kim Hojung's flowing cobalt and teal glazes, and Lee Jaejun's celadon caught mid-drip.

📍 Magna Gallery Paris, 25 rue de Beaune — through Sept 19, daily 11am–7pm

Fold before painting. Reveal after.

Simon Hantaï — Aquarelle, 1971.

A work created in 1971, at a pivotal moment in Hantaï's exploration of the folding process — a technique that established him as one of the leading figures of postwar European abstraction.

His method: fold and crumple the paper, apply colour only to the exposed surfaces, then unfold. Chance and intention meet — untouched white areas emerge alongside luminous washes, in a rhythm both dynamic and meditative. Hantaï rejected the idea of the precious object, letting the material life of the work speak for itself.

This watercolour, listed in the catalogue raisonné (Á. Berecz, Simon Hantaï, Vol. 2, 2013), is on view this summer in our exhibition 20th-Century Masters, 25 rue de Beaune, Paris.

*The One and The Others*, 1973
Gouache on paper

Executed in 1973, *The One and The Others* embodies Alexander Calder's unmistakable visual language: bold forms, vibrant primary colours, and a remarkable sense of balance and movement. Conceived as an autonomous work on paper, it also offers a rare insight into the artist's creative process, where drawing becomes the place in which sculptural ideas first take shape.

Signed and dated "Calder 73", titled on the reverse, and registered with the Calder Foundation Archives (A 12277), this work benefits from an impeccable provenance.
