Surprise in the last photo! 💫🤩
Tokyo-born artist Chisato Yamash*ta 山下千里/Yamash*ta Chisato found her muses during a visit to an aquarium. Captivated by the delicate beauty of jellyfish, she built an artistic universe around her love of sea creatures. 🪼

Her intricately detailed paintings draw us into an ocean of modern mermaids, ethereal jellyfish and hypnotic blues and purples. Gofun, a traditional pigment made from seashells, lends her works their delicate luminosity.

And what an honor it was to meet the artist in Japan recently!
The artworks are currently visible at Goldshteyn-Saatort Gallery for the Exploring Magic group show!
