GIVE YOUR SUPPORT TO COLOMBIA:

On August 10, 2026, Colombia was struck by a devastating 7.4-magnitude earthquake, with the epicenter in the Chocó region of western Colombia. The powerful earthquake caused widespread destruction across several cities, including Cali, Pereira, Quibdó and Manizales, with buildings collapsing, infrastructure damaged, and many people killed, injured or still missing. Rescue teams and volunteers continue to search through the rubble, while families who have lost their homes and loved ones face an uncertain and difficult road ahead.

At Red Door, we feel a responsibility to stand with the people of Colombia and with the artists and members of our community who have been directly affected and, in some cases, have lost everything. We are doing what we can to help, and we invite our friends, artists, visitors and supporters to contribute. If you would like to donate directly to the humanitarian response, you can support the Colombian Red Cross through their official donation platform:

Cruz Roja Colombiana:
https://www.ayuda.cruzrojacolombiana.org/

Or via MOBILEPAY through Red Door:

Every contribution can help provide essential support to families affected by this disaster.

Seasons bring change. This time, it is our home on Møllegade that enters a period of renewal. The building's upcoming renovation has prompted the decision to close our physical space (for now, though not permanently, as we have navigated similar transitions before).

This moment also reflects broader structural conditions: Red Door has been shaped by the gradual erosion of cultural funding, from unsuccessful grant applications to declining support for independent publishing and the work of local artists. While community initiatives and fundraising efforts have sustained us at crucial moments, projects such as this depend on more than financial contributions. They require collective care, participation, and long-term commitment.

Red Door was conceived as an open cultural infrastructure: a space where urgent conversations could take place, where emerging and established artists could meet on equal terms, where collecting art might remain accessible regardless of income, and where poetry, critical exchange, and experimentation could exist outside the logic of commercial showrooms or cultural tourism.

The time has come to listen to what our community expresses through its actions and to rethink the structures that will carry this project forward.

Our magazine and ongoing initiatives will continue. You can follow our work at reddoormagazine dot com and on Instagram at reddoordk. And yes, you are still welcome to donate to Red Door via paypal at reddoorcph at gmail, or via the subscriptions on our website shop to give breath to the next phase, or via patreon / reddoor (and sorry I don't make links but meta wants me to pay for that and no way).

To the hundreds who attended our events, exhibitions, readings, concerts, parties, and gatherings; to those who discovered art, books, and magazines with us; and to everyone who volunteered, collaborated, and sustained Red Door as a space of openness and exchange... thank you. To our neighbors, landlord, fellow artists and curious visitors of the area: it's been an absolute delight being part of the neighborhood.

We look forward to what comes next. As ever, the product is the process.

With love and poetry, but most importantly, with neverstop desire,

Madam Neverstop

From all of us at Red Door, we’re excited to introduce NoMuLAB — Nordic Multimedia Writing LAB, a new online learning platform for students, emerging writers, and educators exploring multilingual, multicultural, and multimedia approaches to writing and literature.

Created together with our partners at Ós Pressan, NoMuLAB brings together research, practical resources, and FREE courses developed to support multilingual writing as a space for creative experimentation, cultural exchange, and literary innovation.

Developed through our Erasmus+ Multilingual Writing LAB, project, this collaboration has connected writers and educators across Denmark and Iceland through research, transnational training, pilot courses, and the creation of a new digital learning platform. We hope NoMuLAB will help expand access to multilingual writing practices and contribute to more diverse, connected, and language-aware literary communities across the Nordic region and beyond.
