New Permanent Exhibition at Keramion!
Great news for Frechen and the region: The Keramion Foundation has received funding for the comprehensive redesign of its permanent exhibition on the history of ceramics in Frechen and the surrounding region.
The project is supported by the Ministry of Home, Municipal Affairs, Housing and Digitalisation of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia through the “Heimat-Zeugnis” funding programme with around €184,000, as well as by the Landschaftsverband Rheinland (LVR) with €65,000.
On around 550 m², the region’s more than 500-year-old ceramic heritage will be presented in a more modern, interactive and engaging way – from the famous Bartmann jug and important works of Cologne-Frechen ceramics to industrial ceramics and outstanding artistic works from the Keramion collection.
Another important part of the project is improved accessibility. A new elevator will make the lower level much easier to access in the future.
This will make Keramion an even more open cultural and educational space for all generations – an important step in preserving the region’s ceramic heritage and presenting it in a contemporary way.
