Thank you to everyone who joined us for the opening of Ergin Çavuşoğlu: Proposition I: Distance.

Through painting, spatial construction, and questions of perception, the exhibition reflects on distance not simply as separation, but as a space where images, memory, and meaning come into relation.

The exhibition remains on view until 27 June at Estopia Lugano.

Estopia Gallery is pleased to remind you that Ergin Çavuşoğlu’s solo exhibition Proposition I: Distance opens tomorrow, May 21, at 6:00 PM in Lugano.

The exhibition brings together painting, spatial construction, and perceptual inquiry, opening a reflection on distance, representation, and the unstable relation between image and reality.

The presentation also includes a work by İsmet Çavuşoğlu, extending the dialogue between proximity and separation, resonance and transmission.

Estopia is pleased to present Proposition I: Distance, a solo exhibition by Ergin Çavuşoğlu, bringing together a new body of paintings and inlay anamorphic reliefs.

Extending the artist’s long-standing research into perception, viewpoint, and the construction of space, the exhibition approaches reality as a form of “proposition”: a constructed truth, unstable and dependent on the viewer’s position.

In Proposition I: Distance, images do not seek fixed meanings, but unfold as layered, suspended, and almost dreamlike fields, where figures, architectures, surfaces, and depths appear constantly on the verge of definition.

The exhibition also includes a work by İsmet Çavuşoğlu, opening a further reflection on proximity and distance as perceptual, affective, and philosophical conditions.

Estopia è lieta di presentare Proposition I: Distance, mostra personale di Ergin Çavuşoğlu, che riunisce un nuovo corpus di dipinti e rilievi anamorfici a intarsio.

Proseguendo la ricerca dell’artista sulla percezione, il punto di vista e la costruzione dello spazio, la mostra considera la realtà come una forma di “proposizione”: una verità costruita, instabile e dipendente dalla posizione dello spettatore.

In Proposition I: Distance, le immagini non cercano significati fissi, ma si sviluppano come campi stratificati, sospesi e quasi onirici, dove figure, architetture, superfici e profondità sembrano costantemente sul punto di definirsi.

La mostra include inoltre un’opera di İsmet Çavuşoğlu, aprendo un’ulteriore riflessione su vicinanza e distanza come condizioni percettive, affettive e filosofiche.

Armen Agop’s presentation for the Egyptian Pavilion at the 61st International Art Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia is now on view at the Giardini in Venice.

Titled Silence Pavilion: Between the Tangible and the Intangible, the exhibition brings together sculptures and paintings in a contemplative journey through material, stillness, and perception.

For Agop, silence is not absence, but a space of attention. Working with elemental forms, granite, and a deeply meditative sculptural language, his practice invites viewers to slow down, listen, and encounter the quiet force of matter.

We are proud to celebrate this important moment for Armen Agop, whose work continues to open a dialogue between the physical and the spiritual, the ancient and the contemporary, the visible and the invisible.

Silence Pavilion: Between the Tangible and the Intangible is on view at the Egyptian Pavilion, Giardini della Biennale, Venice, from 9 May to 22 November 2026.

ROSTIA KUNOVSKY | Between Outside and Inside II

A final chance to discover Rostia Kunovsky’s works at Estopia Lugano, where façades, windows, letters, and silences open onto a suspended space between visibility and disappearance, construction and memory.

In his paintings, İsmet Çavuşoğlu explores a shifting threshold between landscape and abstraction, where atmosphere, surface, and painterly tension allow the image to emerge gradually rather than appear as a fixed representation.
Conceived for Estopia’s Aosta space, Vicinanza / Nähe reflects on proximity not simply as physical closeness, but as a way of reconsidering distance through perception and relation.
The inclusion of a work by Ergin Çavuşoğlu extends this reflection through family, aesthetic affinity, and transmission, opening a dialogue between father and son that also anticipates a future presentation in Lugano.

The exhibition will be on view until May 30, 2026.
The artists will be present at the Opening, we look forward to welcoming you from 6:00 PM.

Nelle sue pitture, İsmet Çavuşoğlu esplora una soglia mutevole tra paesaggio e astrazione, dove atmosfera, superficie e tensione pittorica permettono all’immagine di emergere gradualmente, piuttosto che imporsi come rappresentazione fissa.
Concepita per lo spazio di Estopia ad Aosta, Vicinanza / Nähe riflette sulla prossimità non semplicemente come vicinanza fisica, ma come possibilità di ripensare la distanza attraverso percezione e relazione.
