One week ago "Humanitarian, by Design? Le design au cœur de l’humanitaire" opened its doors to the public 🎥
What do the objects used in humanitarian action reveal about the realities of crisis? How do humanitarian spaces shape the lives of those who inhabit them? And how do the images and narratives surrounding humanitarian crises shape the way we perceive them? From familiar objects, such as first-aid kits and prostheses, to spaces defined by waiting and uncertainty, the exhibition questions what we often take for granted. It explores how humanitarian objects and systems are adapted, repurposed or reappropriated in the field, while questioning the images of humanitarian action that we share.
Born out of a dialogue between research, design, heritage conservation and humanitarian action, the exhibition invites us to look at the objects and spaces that accompany crises from a different perspective.
