There’s still time to visit Internal Compass, a solo exhibition by Shelley Eros at 210 Gallery.

Bringing together works from several years of Eros’ practice, the exhibition moves between botanical imagery, abstraction, printmaking and textured painting, with an intuitive approach guiding the work throughout.

Internal Compass remains on view through October 24.

A look at the painted works in Shelley Eros’ (Shelley Eros) Internal Compass, including Where The Wild Things Grow (2022), shown at the centre of this grouping.

Across these works, Eros moves between abstraction and botanical imagery, using colour, texture and layered surfaces as part of an intuitive painting practice. Where The Wild Things Grow brings those approaches together, with a single flower emerging from a field of blues, greens and violet tones.

Also pictured are Life’s a Climb, Tides of Intuition, Hecia 3 and Gentle Winds Overlook.

A closer look at one of the botanical works in Shelley Eros’ (Shelley Eros) Internal Compass, now on view at 210 Gallery.

Here, layered leaves, petals and organic forms move across the canvas in soft greens, corals, pinks and reds. The work reflects the botanical side of Eros’ practice, which sits alongside monoprints, abstract printmaking and more heavily textured paintings throughout the exhibition.

A closer look at Internal Compass by Shelley Eros (Shelley Eros).

Featured here is Take Me Somewhere I’ve Never Been Before, shown alongside a grouping of four works: Lost in Paradise, Beneath the Blue Crescendo, Dusk Meadow and Something Organic 18.

Across Internal Compass, Eros brings together botanical monoprints, abstract printmaking and textured paintings developed over several years. The exhibition reflects an intuitive way of working, guided by colour, material and the marks that emerge through the process.

A closer look at Internal Compass, a solo exhibition by Gunton-based artist Shelley Eros, now on view at 210 Gallery.

Bringing together several years of work, the exhibition moves between botanical monoprints, abstract printmaking and heavily textured paintings. Across the series, Eros follows an intuitive process, responding to colour, material, movement and the marks that emerge along the way.

The title Internal Compass reflects that way of working, where instinct and experimentation help guide each piece rather than a fixed outcome.

On view until October 24, 2026 at 210 Gallery, 210 Princess Street.

Join us for Clay Play at 210 Gallery this Friday.

Drop in and make something with air dry clay. Shape it, roll it, pinch it, build it into whatever you like. No set project, just lots of clay.

Shelley Eros’s (Shelley Eros) Internal Compass opened at 210 Gallery on Saturday, and we were happy to share the evening with everyone who stopped by during Nuit Blanche.

The exhibition brings together several years of Shelley’s work, moving between delicate botanical prints and richly textured abstract paintings. Guided by instinct, her practice draws on a lifetime of music and movement, as well as her relationship with the land in rural Manitoba.

Thank you to Shelley for sharing her work with us, and to everyone who came to see the exhibition and joined in the Draw Yourself activity.

Internal Compass is on view until October 24. Come spend some time with the work.
