The support from residents, tourists, and Van Isle locals who have called, messaged, or simply stopped by to compliment this mural and Austin’s incredible work has been so appreciated. 💙

We know James Bay is the perfect place for marine reptiles to be celebrated and displayed — creatures that have called these waters home since the dawn of time. We are incredibly fortunate to live on such a beautiful island with a rich history of fossils, minerals, and natural wonders.

Appreciation and restoration go hand in hand. We’re grateful to be part of bringing a little more of that history and beauty into the neighbourhood. 🦕🌊

Artist spotlight

This is Austin. You've likely seen a few of his great reels on our page. Austin is not only an incredible artist of many mediums, but he is one of our Museum Docents. He's been with us for nearly 5 years and this is his "fun job" as he works full time elsewhere. I wish my fun job included this level of creativity and talent. He is one of our many wonderful artists at the lab.

He began working on this a few weeks ago in his limited available time. We'll keep you posted on progress. We are thrilled with how its turning out!
