THIS WEEKEND!
We’re STEAMING UP our restored #1 SHAY Locomotive for the last days of summer. This Labour Day weekend will be the last 3 days of steam before the first Halloween Train leaves the station October 17th. The Green Hornet gas train will run until the end of the season on September 20th.
Some important things to note for the Labour Day weekend’s three days:
• The museum will be open from 10 am to 4:30 pm on all 3 days.
• 10:30 am – 4 pm - Our ' #1 SHAY Locomotive will be STEAMED UP ' and in operation all three days running every half hour from the train station
• The traveling exhibit “Our Living Languages: First Peoples’ Voices in BC will be leaving on September 20th. If you haven’t seen and interacted with this exhibit, time is running out and this long weekend may be a perfect time to learn about and appreciate the resilience and diversity of Indigenous languages before it returns home to the Royal BC Museum.
• This 3-day event is FREE with your 2026 Membership
• The ‘STEAMED UP’ Barbecued Hot Dogs will be a Special Twoonie ($2) price, Tattoos, crafts in the School House and UNLIMITED STEAM TRAIN RIDES!
