These three installations are looking for a new home. We are moving and unfortunately can’t take them with us.
We are happy to give them away, but we can’t support them or install them. This is best for someone who knows about electronics and programming. The pieces are mostly working, though they may require some TLC. Unfortunately, we can’t support them.
Ideal for an educational environment where students could get their hands on these installations and give them new life.

Copper is a concept for a smart kinetic sculpture.

Comprised of 17 copper tubes motorized at the top and bottom, each member has 4 states - still, autonomous, follow and swarm.
Turning the whole installation into any of the modes will create an ever changing visual arrangement. Special logic is programmed into the system to make sure the tubes never collide with each other. Speed and angle of rotation can be controlled independently making it possible to create a range of different movements, from calm to chaotic to highly organized and resembling the movement of a murmuration of birds or school of fish.

Not many people know or can imagine the amount of work to go through to achieve some of the things we do with my team
This was about a year long process of ideation, research, prototyping, testing, design, fabrication and installation.
We don’t see real limits to what is possible and I truly think that the ingenuity of our approach to design is hard to match.
We don’t usually take on pure design/engineering project but when showed me the 3D concept for I got excited to be part of it. Before talking to us they had done a series of test that didn’t really resemble the concept so I thought it would be a cool challenge for us. Also I felt the aesthetic aligned very well with the type of work we usually do. We love playing with complex patters that create simple compositions, patterns that are really experiences and more than simple objects.
A funny thing is that I looked at the concept image just one time and completely forgot about it. By the end of the project I got to see the image again and was blown away by how we had achieved the exact same look. It was an arduous and long team effort where and myself worked together with to make it happen.

Here is a very small number of process images and some amazing photos by who has the talent of capturing the most mundane thing and make it magical. Hopefully we brought a bit of the magic ourselves this time
