Celebrate the Summer Solstice through music, community, and Indigenous artistry.

On Saturday, June 20, the Museum and Toronto Council Fire Native Cultural Centre present the Red R***e Concert, co-presented with the Association for Native Development in the Performing and Visual Arts.

Held ahead of National Indigenous Peoples Day, this free concert brings together traditional and contemporary Indigenous artists for an evening of powerful performances, creative expression, and cultural celebration.

Stay after the concert for a special afterparty from 10 pm–12 am, with music in the Atrium, snacks from the Courtyard Café, and access to the Museum’s galleries.

On June 4, the Museum welcomes Dr. Samuel Pizelo, professor at the University of Toronto Mississauga, for Playing With the World: How Games Have Shaped Modern Science and Technology.

Presented in connection with Game On!, this talk looks at games not only as forms of entertainment, but as powerful ways to explore strategy, probability, design, knowledge, and innovation across cultures and time.

The new episode of This Being Human is out now!

Host Mai Habib sits down with artist and filmmaker Ohida Khandakar to discuss her award-winning film Dream Your Museum.

The film follows the remarkable collection of Ohida’s Uncle Selim Khandakar, who gathered more than 12,000 everyday objects over 50 years. Through memory, imagination, and storytelling, these objects become something more than a collection.

From a mud house to the Victoria and Albert Museum, Ohida reflects on how culture can be held, shared, and reimagined beyond traditional exhibition spaces.

On April 10, the Museum was honoured to welcome many of our supporters and distinguished guests to a special event celebrating our newest exhibition, Game On!

Guests explored the exhibition while enjoying live music and friendly competition through a variety of games.

Curator Bita Pourvash invited everyone in attendance to reflect on what lies at the heart of games: connection across difference, collaboration, creativity, and joy.

These same values are central to the Museum’s mission and vision: to connect cultures through the arts, foster a deeper understanding of our shared humanity, and contribute to more inclusive and peaceful societies.
