The Etobicoke Historical Society was formed in May 1958 as an answer to a growing concern among Etobicoke citizens about the rapidly changing character of what was then the Township of Etobicoke, and the need to preserve our early history.

Etobicoke Historical Society enjoyed a wonderful day at the 2026 Etobicoke Community Fair at Cloverdale Mall on Saturday!
Our displays on Famous Etobians and The O’Connor Sisters sparked lively conversations and drew plenty of interest from visitors. We were delighted to meet so many fascinating people who share our passion for preserving and celebrating Etobicoke’s rich history.

Come out to the Etobicoke Community Fair on June 13th (11 am - 2 pm) at Cloverdale Mall. EHS will be there with displays on local history and our books for sale. See below for details.

EHS is honoured to present Cherri Hurst with the Etobicoke Historical Society's 2026 Jean Hibbert Memorial Award.

Cherri (right) received the award from EHS President Mireille Macia (left), and Cherri's mentor and 2021 Jean Hibbert Award recipient, Mary Louise Ashbourne (centre) at the EHS Annual General Meeting last night at Montgomery's Inn.
