Dating as far back as ancient Mesopotamia and Syria around 1000–2500 BCE, Mermaids are a big part of mythology in every culture. From sea sirens to goddess’s, they capture the human imagination in many forms. The Sedna in Inuit culture is the powerful sea goddess over all sea life and symbolizes the Inuit belief in balance and respect for nature.
We have some striking pieces at Cobalt Gallery that tell interesting narratives of the mermaid theme. Swipe for more. ➡️

One of our favourite Gerry Collins paintings also has a very similar twin in pastel. We think it may be a study for this large and moody, green interior scene.

1) “Studio Interior” oil on canvas, framed, 4.5 ft x 3 ft, framed, $4000

2) “Studio Interior” (2007), pastel, 21” x 24”, framed, $1200

Black and White certainly doesn't take a back seat to colour.

After recently posting our curated art collection of bold colour, we wanted to also showcase our vast collection of black & white art. Sometimes, the absence of colour brings the eyes' attention more to detail or narrative that colour can sometimes distract with. Whether sharp contrast or the soft and subtle values of grayscale, B & W surely creates a mood.

Love prints and drawings? We've got you covered.

Art also makes a perfect Father's Day gift for the hard-to-buy-for dad. 🎁
