A huge thank you to Marie McEachern and Lynda Williamson for coming up to speak on your individual art practice and Studio Art Quilt Associates, Inc. It was lovely to see so many Red Deerians out on the long weekend. We also were pleased to meet the handful of Calgarians who made their first visit to see our galleries.

We are open tomorrow from 10am to 4:30pm.

Swipe through to see some fun moments from the setup of Renewal by Studio Art Quilt Associates (SAQA), opening TODAY (Sept. 4) for First Friday! 🧵 Two of the artists featured in the exhibition will be on hand for tonight's opening reception. Alberta Artists, Marie McEachern and Lynda Williamson, will speak their works and the SAQA organization at 6 pm.

The opening reception runs from 5pm to 8pm (feel free to stay for as little or as long as you want). ⏰ If you feel inspired by the exhibit, head over to our Stewart Discovery Studio (SDS) for a fun art project where you get to make your own mini art quilt! 🎨

Both the reception and art project are free to attend, and the SDS is open throughout the event. All ages welcome.

Coming to the MAG very soon: Renewal by Studio Art Quilt Associates (SAQA)! 🧵🎨

SAQA is a non-profit organization whose mission is to promote the art quilt. Its vision is that the art quilt is universally respected as a fine art medium. SAQA’s three Canadian regions (Atlantic, Central, & Western) have joined together to create this juried exhibit of art quilts!
