Check in with a staff member to receive your first envelope of clues, and use your wits to explore the site and crack the case! This self-guided event lets you work at your own pace and kicks off at 10:30 both days. Don't worry - our staff will be there to offer hints and guidance!

We've mentioned before that one task we find ourselves doing throughout the summer is rescuing trapped birds from our buildings, specifically hummingbirds. They fly into the barns and cabins, then exhaust themselves trying to get out through the (closed) windows.

This week's is a clip of what happens once we've snagged said bird. This one was wasting no time!

Join us in saying con-grad-ulations to Allie and Shannon on their recent academic achievements!

Allie took part in the College of New Caledonia's convocation ceremony on June 4, which also happened to be on her day off from the homestead! Shannon participated in the University of Northern British Columbia's ceremonies on May 29, but came out a few days beforehand to do photos with her family (and bunny friend!).

Congratulations again to both of you!

The girls are all set up at Lheidli T'enneh Memorial Park for P.G. National Indigenous Peoples Day, and they're ready to do some crafts, sell you candy, or just get photo bombed!

Big plans for the weekend? If not, consider joining us on Sunday, June 21 for Father's Day at Huble Homestead! Dad will get a pancake breakfast on the house, and you can explore the grounds at your leisure or challenge him to a game of horseshoes!

In addition to the site, we'll be set up at Lhedli T'enneh Memorial Park for P.G. National Indigenous Peoples Day, also on Sunday, June 21! Come find us with the other community groups, where we'll be doing crafts and letting people try out our stilts!

We're proud to announce our 2026 grant recipients!

🎉Each year, the Kiwanis Club of Prince George awards grant funding to local organizations doing meaningful work for children and youth in our community. This year, our club is proud to support:

🐺 UNBC Timberwolves – Run as One youth program, bringing basketball and soccer skills development to school-aged kids across School District 57, led by Timberwolves student-athletes who are making a real difference as role models in our community.

🎃 Huble Homestead Historic Site – The Halloween Spooktacular, a beloved family-friendly autumn event held at the Huble Homestead Historic Site that brings pumpkin carving, magic shows, and loads of Halloween fun to kids and families each year.

🚵 Intersect Youth & Family Services Society and Family Services – Youth development programs including their Switchback Mountain Bike Program and Supporting Spirit community collaboration, both focused on building life skills, resilience, and connection through sport and culture.

🤝 Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northern BC – Group mentoring programs that connect young people with caring volunteer role models through shared activities and experiences.

Congratulations to all four recipients! We're grateful to be part of a community with so many people working hard for kids and youth.
