PoCo Heritage Museum and Archives Where stories connect. Come visit Port Coquitlam's museum and archives!

The PoCo Heritage Museum and Archives, located next to City Hall in downtown Port Coquitlam, is operated by The Port Coquitlam Heritage and Cultural Society (founded in 1988). The museum opened in 2013 during the City of Port Coquitlam's centennial anniversary in the city's old post office building, now called The Outlet in Leigh Square.

The world cup itself may not make its way to PoCo, but take a look at what the Coquitlam Football Club (aka the 'Ranchers') brought home in 1914.

These Champions of BC won the Packenham Cup, the McBride Shield, the Mainland Challenge Cup, among other awards. The trophies were displayed for the town to see in the windows of the Hardware Store downtown. Keep an eye out for some more archival soccer photos this week!

Join us tomorrow 6:30pm at the PoCo Heritage Museum and Archives for a talk from Carol Todd on the legacy and story of Amanda Todd.

Amanda's tragic passing in 2012 and the circumstances surrounding it have impacted many across Canada: it brought to light the importance of mental health, fighting bullying and exploitation, and supporting individuals who are suffering. Join us to hear more about Amanda's story and the important work Carol is undertaking through the Amanda Todd Legacy Society.

PoCo, we have questions! This photo came to our archives from the Tri-City News, but we don’t know what year it was taken, or what chicken-related cause this PoCo resident was championing. Does anyone remember? The house in question was on the corner of Mary Hill Road and Kelly Avenue, but we’d love to know more about their love for chickens.

Let us know in the comments!
