Sad news! We lost a Vancouver legend- 'Big Daddy' Dave McCormick on March 29, 2017. He is remembered with fondness by so many for his distinctive voice. He created the iconic series 'Discumentary' series. We have a fair number of tapes of these fascinating shows at the museum. Bonus right now is that our broadcast 'guru' Peter Trill, in the Okanagan, is streaming some of Dave's shows on the website 'listen now' link.

Happy New Year!
Status of museum open hours.
As more snow is predicted for Saturday/ Sunday -Jan 7 & 8 it is likely we may not make it up the hill to open this coming Sunday- call first before heading out to SPARC 1 (604) 777-1885

Dal Richards was a Vancouver legend - Helping generations ring in the New Year for 79 years!. Performing at the Variety Telethon for countless years.
I remember him coming with several members of his Orchestra once a year to play for the residents at BC Rehab's Pearson Centre for many a year!!
He will be missed!
To honour his memory, we have a signed Dal Richards LP in a prominent place in the Broadcast booth at the museum.

Congratulations to the SPARC team in the International Radio Restoration Contest! -
SPARC came 2nd in the contest to the Canadian team from Quebec by margin of only 1.45 points.
