SHOW ANNOUNCEMENT:

We are excited to welcome back Grace Dam to the FOCUS gallery this Friday with her show 'Just Between You and Me'.

Grace Dam is a Canadian artist based in Toronto. Her focus is oil and acrylic paintings, in figurative and abstract style; her practice extends to include photography, works on paper and other supports beyond the traditional burlap. Dam splits her time between Toronto and Western Canada, where the boundless beauty of the majestic Canadian Rockies, serene lakes and wildlife provide refuge and inspirations for many of her landscapes. Dam received her BFA degree at Ontario College of Art and Design University and MFA degree at Massachusetts College of Art and Design in Boston, USA.

Do you belong to a group that would enjoy a private tour of Melt Gallery along with a demonstration of encaustic painting?

That's exactly what happened yesterday when the Art and Artisans Group from Ottawa visited Melt Studio & Gallery. This enthusiastic group of artists, artisans, and art appreciators spent a wonderful hour exploring RENEWAL, the group exhibition currently on display until June 7th. Featuring a diverse range of artistic approaches and perspectives, the exhibition sparked thoughtful discussion, insightful questions, and engaging conversation.

Following the tour, visitors gathered in the studio for a demonstration of the encaustic painting process, learning about the materials, techniques, and creative possibilities of this ancient medium.

It was a wonderful hour filled with curiosity, creativity, and a shared appreciation for art. The thoughtful comments and questions from the group made the experience especially rewarding.

Private gallery tours and encaustic painting demonstrations are available for groups by arrangement for a small fee. If your organization, club, or group is looking for a unique cultural outing in Prince Edward County, we'd be delighted to welcome you to Melt Studio & Gallery.

It's always a pleasure to see how artists interpret the world around them—through shape, colour, form, texture, and imagination. The ability to share a unique perspective is a gift. Through art, viewers are invited to see familiar things differently, often leaving with new thoughts, new feelings, and a deeper appreciation for the world around them.

This is certainly the case at RENEWAL, where over 60 artists are on display, each bringing their own distinct voice, experiences, and perspectives to the exhibition. The diversity of approaches, mediums, and ideas makes for a rich and rewarding viewing experience.

Drop by and see the exhibition for yourself before it closes on June 7th. We are open Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from noon to 5 p.m.

You’ll definitely find some sweet moments in the show Renewal that stir up memories of springs gone by — and of the present too. From the fresh tastes and gentle scents of the garden to the warmth of simple seasonal moments, it beautifully captures how memories can bloom again through familiar sights, smells, and feelings. The show gently reminds us that some of life’s sweetest memories are rooted in the changing seasons and the quiet beauty of everyday.

Colour is a powerful part of art. The way an artist handles the combination of colours can completely transform the mood, energy, and emotional impact of a piece. From bold and vibrant palettes to soft and subtle harmonies, colour becomes its own language within the artwork.

Experience the diversity of these bold palettes during RENEWAL, on view at Melt Studio & Gallery until June 7th. Open Friday, Saturday and Sunday noon- 5pm.

What is an artist?

Some are born knowing they are artists. Others take different paths through life before eventually finding their way back to creativity. Some never realize they are artists until one day something sparks inside them.

Artists wear many hats — mothers, fathers, aunties, business owners, caregivers, teachers, dreamers. Some create from a place of healing, others from an undeniable inner pull. Some make art simply for the joy of it.

Some are just beginning their artistic journey, while others have spent decades refining their practice. Every path is different, and every story matters.

At Melt Studio & Gallery we celebrate artists at every stage of their creative journey.
Drop by during the RENEWAL exhibition and support these artists by purchasing their work, while also supporting a gallery dedicated to creating space for artists to share what they do with the world.
