JOHN FERRI \\ Crossed, Immersed & Stratified
2gallery and Hartley’s is pleased to present an exciting and vibrant exhibition of three new series of works by photo-based artist John Ferri. In two, Stratification and Immersed, Ferri descends from his traditional aerial vantage point and returns to earth – eye level – to pay further witness to the human experience surrounding, and shared by, all of us.
His art combines elements of photography, collage and graphic design to create a unique visual perspective that balances precision, whimsy and a fascination with human movement.
“Through geometric shapes, bold layers of color, and repeating patterns, I examine how we navigate the physical and social structures of the everyday. The figures within these compositions are simultaneously isolated and connected. By blending street photography with imagined spaces, I capture this contradiction — freezing fractions of a second while holding multiple moments at once. Though drawn from three distinct series, this collection is united by a shared focus on the rhythm, pace, and boundaries of our lives. Throughout it all, the human figure remains the sole constant, giving dimension to our surroundings rather than being defined by them.”
John Ferri is a Toronto and Prince Edward County based artist. His love of photography is life-long. He has exhibited since 2011, and his work is featured in numerous private, public and corporate collections.
