Final funding was unanimously approved by City of Penticton on Tuesday!! We are so excited...years of work and the project is now ready for the next steps! Thanks so much to everyone who donated and gave their support!

The SS Sicamous schedule this week continues with our new schedule of 11am to 4pm all week.

Reminder TODAY (Tuesday, September 1st) at 1:00 p.m., we're presenting to Penticton City Council, asking them to recommend allocating the final $45,000 to the 2027 budget. It's the last piece of our $250,000 project — we've already raised $205,000 through grassroots donations and funding partners.

As mentioned before, this is the furthest the project has ever gotten. Permits are approved, engineering is complete, and our contractor is confirmed. If the funding is recommended, we could break ground as early as March 2027.

Just being there - and learning more about where the project stands - makes a difference.

Here at the S.S. Sicamous Marine Heritage Society, we are committed to safeguarding the S.S. Naramata tugboat for future generations. Currently, the hull is buried deep in the sand, and we are working to raise the vessel above the water table. This crucial step will prevent water from seeping into the interior, allowing us to better maintain and preserve the steel structure.

This ambitious project requires specialized expertise, and due to its unique nature, we must first conduct a series of preliminary studies to accurately estimate the total costs. We are actively fundraising to support this effort, as without it, the S.S. Naramata faces the risk of irreversible damage. Your support is vital to ensuring the longevity of this historic vessel.

The Naramata carried Okanagan fruit and broke ice on this lake for 53 years. After 30 years in the sand, she has a real shot at being raised and preserved for future generations.

Unfortunately, our Great Train Robbery events have been cancelled for the remainder of the year. The Bald Range wildfire impacted the area where the robbery takes place, making it necessary to cancel these events.

Guests with Great Train Robbery bookings will automatically receive a refund. Please allow 2–3 business days for the refund to be processed.
