Take a trip back in time as you stroll through our museum and pioneer village. With one of the largest collections of Ottawa Valley artifacts, the Upper Ottawa Valley Heritage Centre is truly a must-see! The Upper Ottawa Valley Heritage Centre preserves and promotes the history of the Upper Ottawa Valley. This dynamic museum, owned and managed by the Ottawa Valley Historical Society, collects, preserves, researches, exhibits and interprets its collection of artifacts and archival material.

Looking for a fun way to spend Halloween morning with the kids? 🎃 Join us at the museum on Saturday, October 31, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for a relaxed morning of autumn crafts and Halloween fun!

Designed with children ages 0–7 in mind, this event is open to children of all ages and features a variety of Halloween-inspired crafts and hands-on activities for everyone to enjoy.

Admission is pay what you can. Registration is recommended but not required. Registering ahead of time helps us estimate attendance so we can prepare enough craft and activity materials for everyone.

Costumes are encouraged, so come dressed up, get a little crafty, and celebrate Halloween with us at the museum! 👻

We’re excited to welcome Maeshe as a vendor at our upcoming Heritage Christmas Market! 🎄

In addition to joining us for the market, Maeshe will be hosting a DIY Crystal Garden Workshop at the Upper Ottawa Valley Heritage Centre on November 14 at 1:00 p.m. All materials will be provided, and a portion of the funds raised will support the Heritage Centre!

This Thanksgiving, we’re especially thankful for the support our community has shown for our historic log home. We’re honoured to see everyone come together once again to help preserve this important part of our local heritage.

We wanted to share a quick guide on how to show your support through our L.E.A.F. Initiative project page!

2. Choose how you’d like to show your support:

Here’s the second half of our homeschool program schedule! We’re highlighting the remaining 8 of our 16 programs, with descriptions of what students can expect from each one.

Take a look through all of the photos to explore the programs we have planned for homeschool families at the Upper Ottawa Valley Heritage Centre. We look forward to welcoming you for a year of hands-on learning, exploration, and local history!

Program Fees

We’re excited to share more information about our homeschool program schedule! Over the next two posts, we’ll be highlighting all 16 programs, with a description of what students can expect from each one.

Tomorrow, we’re kicking things off with Acadia!

Program Fees
