Wow! I stopped by the World of Threads Festival show today and I can’t even put it into words! The most beautiful fibre art from around the globe all in one place. There is a lot to see, this is just a small example of the artwork displayed this year. I will be going back for more😍 if you haven’t gotten there yet you should go and see all the beautiful work. Head to the Queen Elizabeth Community and Cultural Center in Oakville, Ontario. It’s free and you will be amazed!

Purple Poppy

When I began this poppy journey I’ve been on now for over a year I didn’t really know poppy’s came in other colours. To my delight I found the purple poppy, I love it because it’s so dramatic and moody. While it’s not my fav colour or flower it is a flower that has meaning attached for all of us. Those who had family in any or all of the world wars the red poppy is a symbol of their sacrifice that we hold dear. The purple poppy also holds meaning that I recently just learned about. This moody dramatic poppy is used to commemorate the service and suffering of the animals used in war. The horses, dogs, mules and pigeons are honoured as the forgotten victims in war and remembered for their service in communications, transport and companionship during WW1 & WW2 and wars around the world with the purple poppy.
