1st Royal Scots Regiment, Centre Coy, War of 1812 A War of 1812 Re-enacting group portraying the 1st Royal Scots Reg't, now known as The Royal Scots Borderers, 1st Bn, Royal Regiment of Scotland

Our group re-enacts the 1st Royal Scots Regiment (today known as The Royal Scots Borderers, 1st Battalion, The Royal Regiment of Scotland) as they appeared in North America during the War of 1812. We also portray a Centre Company of the 42nd Royal Highland Regiment as they appeared on the field of Waterloo during the Napoleonic War.

Centre Company was busy this weekend laying siege to Fort Meigs in the Ohio Territory. We combined to form a composite company with our northern friends in the 1st Royal Scots Light Company, and the southernly 4th Kings Own and 95th Rifles. Early success on a misty Saturday turned into defeat on Sunday by the hometown Jonathans, but all still had a great time with the 1812 crowd on both sides of the conflict. Our Sergeant was incredibly honoured to receive the 1812 Crown Forces North America Meritorious Service medal for successfully keeping past indiscretions from the CFNA General Staff. He wore the new gong proudly all weekend. Thanks to our camp follower Thea Chimento for the photos.

We're sorry to announce that we've had to temporarily remove some of the photos in this group because we received a very lovely offer from a manufacturer on the Indian subcontinent to sell us our own work as his own.
Once we get them labeled to prevent this sort of thing in the future, they will be reposted.

The Centre Coy of the 1st Royal Scots wishes to announce that we are joining forces with Muskets of the Crown, a re-enactment group that currently covers the Jacobite, French and Indian War, and Revolutionary War periods. This association will allow both groups to expand our scope to include the later part of the “Long 18th Century” from the early 1700’s to the end of the Napoleonic Wars.
We look forward to working with “Muskets” over the coming years to better tell the story of Scottish Soldiers and the communities who supported them during a turbulent period which shaped much of the modern world.
