Congratulations to my friend and exceptionally wonderful human CLAUDIA HART.

Hart has received the 2026 ACM SIGGRAPH Distinguished Artists Award for Lifetime Achievement in Digital Art in recognition of her decades-long, internationally influential contributions to digital art, media theory, and experimental practice. A pioneer in virtual worlds and virtual, augmented, and mixed reality, Hart has advanced critical discourse on embodiment, the representation of female bodies, and socio-political power structures.

Distinguished by her art-historical approach to simulation technologies, Hart’s work bridges digital and historical art forms through sustained artistic innovation, conceptual rigor, and pedagogical leadership at the intersection of art, computation, and critical theory. When our friend and gallery artist JANET JONES passed away unexpectedly in May 2026 we were speechless.

With this new exhibition of works, we pay tribute to an astonishingly talented woman painter and academic. As part of our presentation, we will be sharing a series of “Love Letters” from people who knew Janet and her work. Posted throughout the duration of the exhibition.
