We receive many donations to the museum's collection every year. Items for donation do not enter the museum's permanent collection immediately. They go through several review steps, and four times a year, items are permanently added to the collection. Our next session of considering donations is coming up in November.

The Huronia Museum has been collecting and preserving the history of North Simcoe since 1947. Our three galleries showcase the development of the community from the Huron-Wendat era to present-day …

Our building is cool, as our staff and our stuff.
Did you know you can grab a free family pass to the Huronia Museum as part of the Public Library 's "Cool Things to Borrow" collection?
You get to keep the pass for a whole week, so if you don't finish one day, you can come back another. Great way to spend time locally and stay out of the heat!
Come and check out all the cool stuff at Huronia Museum! See less

We are cool in so many ways, not just because we have air conditioning.

Did you know we have a language treasure hunt? A hunt where you get to learn very cool Anishnaabemowin words and practice pronouncing them! You will be the coolest and impress your friends, knowing all those new Anishnaabemowin words, right here where the Anishnaabe have been and continue to be stewards of the nibi (water).
You can even earn an extra sticker for the Canadian Museum of Water's "Celebrate Water Passport" for completing the treasure hunt.

🔎 Put on your explorer hats! The Anishinaabemowin Treasure Hunt is officially a part of Celebrate Water! 💦🎒

As part of Midland’s month-long Celebrate Water! festival, the Huronia Museum invites you to a fun, hands-on way to connect with local culture and history.

How to play: Grab your clue sheet and match Anishinaabemowin words to amazing artifacts throughout the museum. It’s an active, engaging way to explore the rich history, culture, and language of the Anishinaabek people (Three Fires Confederacy).📍

BONUS: Huronia Museum is an official passport stop! Bring your festival passport, follow Adrian the Water Droplet’s clues, and collect your sticker to get closer to unlocking epic prizes (including a grand prize getaway worth over $4,000!).

The Details:🗓️ Open 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM daily (Last admission at 3:30 PM)
📍 Huronia Museum, Midland, ON
