The VHA aims to assemble a representative collection of VIA train cars and locomotives to fulsomely interpret the history of Canada’s national passenger railway. Learn about our cafe-bar-lounge car #2514 and baggage car 9636 from two of our volunteers, Christopher Greenlaw and Brian Craus. We are restoring these cars and they are in the midst of being repainted. Have a look at the exterior of the cars and the interior of 2514.

The VIA Rail "Atlantic" is approaching the Reversing Falls in Saint John, NB during its journey from Montreal on November 25, 1990. David Morris was on coach 5471 and looked fore and aft to record the scene.
The historic T.S. Simms Brush Factory is visible ahead of 6434 and 6531, with the massive Centracare facility above it (built as the Provincial Lunatic Asylum).
The roof and "witch's hat" of the Lancaster station is visible above the tail of the train, and the Moosehead b**r factory is beyond the train.

Congratulations to Dave Megee on a remarkable railway career! As he brought VIA train 69 into Union Station on August 28, 2026,he completed 51 years of "working on the railway", first with CN and then with VIA Rail. We wish him the best on his retirement.

David Morris captured the eastbound "Atlantic" (VIA 12) at Allison approaching Moncton, New Brunswick on September 30, 1990. At this time the "Atlantic" and "Ocean" were both running thrice per week.
The consist was: 6430 - 6514 - 9632 - 5584 - 3216 - 757 - 5746 - 5732 - WASCANA - EVANSTON - VIGER - BRULE - TWEEDSMUIR PARK
