Art for a Cause: Supporting Rural Education through Live Painting 🍂🎨
On Saturday, September 26th, I had the privilege of performing a live painting demonstration at an International Literacy Day celebration and fundraising event.
For this piece, I chose to paint Autumn. Fall has always symbolized transformation, renewal, and the gathering of a rich harvest. In much the same way, education transforms young minds, cultivates knowledge, and yields a lifetime of opportunities for children and communities.
During the event, the live painting was auctioned off and sold for $700! The entire amount has been donated to the EKAL Foundation, an organization doing vital work to bring education, literacy, and self-reliance to rural and remote regions in India. With $700, EKAL can support an entire rural school! 📚🏫
A deep, heartfelt thank you to Mitra Uncle and Meera Auntie for organizing such a wonderful event and inviting me to be part of this meaningful cause.

Had a wonderful time teaching the kids how to create their own Ganesha idols. Seeing their enthusiasm and watching them connect with their traditional roots here in Canada made this day so special.

It was an absolute joy to instruct the Madhubani Painting Workshop at the recent Youth Camp! Watching our young participants dive headfirst into this rich, traditional Indian art form was inspiring.

"Piya Tu Ab To Aaja..." The rhythm may slow down today, but the melody you’ve left behind will play on forever. A voice that sparkled like gold and resonated like a bell.
"Abhi Na Jao Chhod Kar, Ke Dil Abhi Bhara Nahin..."
Today, our hearts are heavy as we say goodbye to the ultimate Melody Queen, Asha Bhosle. Your khanakti awaz brought joy to millions and life to every lyric you touched.

One seed planted, a harvest gained." 🌻

I had the incredible honor of live painting at the Indo-Canadian Women Association’s IWD celebration. This year’s theme, 'Give to Gain,' resonated deeply with me. I chose the sunflower to represent the unstoppable energy we carry. In giving our light to others, we don't dim our own—we create a world that shines brighter.

In this video, I explore the theme "Give to Gain." I’ve always found the sunflower to be a powerful metaphor for this concept. A sunflower begins with a single seed, but it grows to produce hundreds more, standing tall and following the light.

As a woman and an artist, I believe that what we give to our community always comes back to us in the form of inspiration and connection. I hope this painting brings a little bit of that sunshine and energy into your day.
