Working on some fun new murals for the city of this has been a really fun process and I can’t wait to share all that has gone into these murals with the help of the people and youth of Beaumont.

5 things I’ve learned from being a full-time artist? 🎨

1. Income fluctuates — prepare for it. Some months feel abundant, some feel slow. Budget for the valleys, not just the peaks.
2. Being out in the world with your art is just as important as staying home making it. Opportunities often come from conversations, relationships, and showing up.
3. Social media is a tool, not a religion. It can help your art grow, but don’t let an algorithm decide your worth.
4. Not every project will light up your soul. Sometimes the jobs that pay the bills create the space for the passion projects you love most.
5. Diversify your skills. Learn new mediums, try different opportunities, say yes to things that scare you. Creativity rarely grows by staying in one lane.

Still learning every day, but these lessons have helped me build a life around art rather than waiting for art to magically build a life for me. Send this to your artist friend. 👨🏻‍🎨👩🏼‍🎨🧑🏽‍🎨

Being an artist tip: There is no one right way to be an artist. That’s the magic and the curse of this path. There are million ways to get where you want to go, and even more ways to not. Some people go to school, others are self taught. Some pursue art with an all or nothing attitude and others protect their art with a stable day job. There is no right or wrong, better or worse. There only is what is best for you at this moment. The trick is to be true to yourself, recognize where you are and what you need to do to protect and nurture the artist. Uour artist needs will change just like the season. Staying true to yourself means understand what season you are in and giving your artist what it needs to survivor, thrive and keep growing.

Limited Edition Prints are available now! Close Encounters of Some Kind is my lastest painting, and a commission for from the this piece was so much fun to paint, the base painting was incredible and really set me up for success. I have no much fun colour matching these paintings, finding ways to add fun elements and Upcycle this old artwork, bringing it back and giving it a second life. I thought I had artist block. It turned out I was just forcing the wrong ending. Three years ago, I painted a shapeless form. I didn’t realize it was the start of a journey until I was editing this reel. I realized that the art was speaking through me. And it took me a while to see it. But this piece has now closed a chapter that I don’t even realize I started. I hope you enjoy the story of my new painting the The Blob at Chateau Orquevaux. Shout out to for letting me know about the residency. for hosting the show. and .1991 for making the residency possible.

I’ve wanted to be part of this show for a few years now so I am really excited to have my work displayed here and looking forward to seeing some footage from the show as I won’t be able to make it in person.

One thing about the that has really stuck with me is the influence of all the other resident artists. One of which is who had a big impact on me during the residency. To me, this portrait represents the importance of relationships. It helped that I snagged this great photo of him that I could use as reference. And I wish I had enough time to paint everyone from the chateau but alas, time does not permit. Shout out to .1991 and for making this residency possible.

My time as the was quite spectacular. And the people I met really made the experience so special. One of those people is who had a strong impact on me at my time during the residency. I also snagged a sweet picture of him so that definitely helped. I honestly wish I could paint everyone’s portrait, but alas, time does not permit. I am also trying to get outside my comfort zone and paint more people so this is a big win win for me. I hope you like it too. Also, shout out to and .1991 for making this residency experience possible.
