Join us for an evening of music, painting, and community at Teichert Gallery this October 3rd!

Purchase Tickets here: https://www.champagneweather.com/event-details/art-workshop-in-halifax

Make art while Champagne Weather makes music! Portraits of Song is a public workshop open to anyone. Listen and react in real-time to the sounds you hear. Draw, paint, collage, write a poem, or just sit and listen. Don't miss this chance to be inspired by live music, performed and improvised while you create. Portraits of Song is an unforgettable live art-making experience.

Canadian Folk Music Award-winners and JUNO nominees James Hill and Anne Janelle (Champagne Weather). Both have one foot in folk traditions and the other in improvised music. With a blend of songwriting and sound sculpture, Champagne Weather artfully bridges these worlds with a sound that evokes Philip Glass and Steve Reich even as it harks back to Appalachian fiddle and Maritime folksong.

Reflecting on our Ocean Week event! Thank you to everyone who made this afternoon of wonderful art and music happen. Anne and Edward Wedler showed us how to capture the essence of the ocean with paint, while musician Vladimir Sitnikov serenaded us with some beautiful acoustics.
