(Post 2 of 2). Julie also brought some of her rugs to let us see the intricacy, detail, skill - and incredible beauty - of her work. It is gallery-worthy. These are all her own original designs…and for the fibre artists, the back of her work is just as neat and exact as the front.

(Post 1 of 2) Teaching is the greatest act of optimism, wrote Colleen Wilcox.
If that is the case, Julie Mosgrove is an optimist of the most pleasant, kind, and generous nature.
Here are some pictures of the first session she held at the Museum, with her lucky student-participants. We are glad to have had her assistant and friend Margie, help out as well.
Thanks to the Molly Made Fibre Art kits, everything was super-efficient. Julie’s students were of varying degrees of skills and experience but we all learned so much in just a few hours.
Now to finish our project without her being there for advice…😢

SESSION IS FULL!

Would you like an introduction to to the skills depicted in the work of art below? This fall, Julie Mosgrove will be offering a Rug Hooking Workshop! It will be on Saturday, October 17, from 1-4 pm. Space is limited to a maximum of 6. Participants need only purchase the kit that they will use that day. A small kit is $25 and a large kit is $35.

Julie Mosgrove came back for a second visit today - and look what she brought!
You may recall that she offered to finish a forty-year old hooked rug that had been at our museum. The brin that it had been on was so brittle it was falling apart. Julie crafted an entirely new one, hooked it and finished it - as well as found a perfect piece of driftwood on which to hang it!
The craftsmanship is exquisite. Julie is a master rug ho**er, and we are so grateful and proud to have a piece of her work in our Museum. Thank you Julie!

The last day of August brings us to the end of our summer season! Thank you to everyone who visited our museum, followed us here on Facebook, came to our events, and supported us with their time, their talents and their treasures! We have had a hugely successful season with so much positive feedback, and we are grateful for all of you!
