For the first time, the CP-107 Argus will be open tomorrow.

The Argus was a powerhouse of an aircraft, capable of remaining airborne for over 26 hours without refuelling.

The record is just over 31 hours, travelling 7,354 km without a fuel stop!

Be among the first to step on this historic aircraft tomorrow at Open Cockpit!

Come and explore the CP-140 Aurora tomorrow.

The Aurora entered service in the 1980s. It replaced the CP-107 Argus and has several roles in the RCAF.

The CP-140 is Canada’s only strategic ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance) aircraft.

The CC-115 Buffalo will be one of the aircraft that you can explore tomorrow at Open Cockpit. The Buffalo started service in the RCAF in 1967, and over the years it has served many purposes.

Search & Rescue is its legacy. Flown by 413, 424, and 442 squadrons, it remained in Comox flying with 442 until its retirement.

Buff 457 currently resides in our air park and was one of the last few remaining Buffs that flew until the fleet’s retirement in 2022. Another thing that makes Buff 457 special is its nickname, “Sparky.” Make sure to ask when you visit tomorrow how Sparky ⚡️ got its name.

COUNTDOWN: T-MINUS ONE SLEEP

Join us at Open Cockpit Day at the 19 Wing Heritage Air Park from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM tomorrow and discover why aircrew have the coolest commute on Earth!

Tomorrow, you can sit in a cockpit and pretend you're RCAF aircrew … making airplane noises is encouraged. Get up close to incredible aircraft, explore real cockpits, snap some photos, and experience a little of the magic that inspires RCAF aviators and aviation enthusiasts alike.

No need for a call sign, a flight suit, or Maverick's confidence level. Just bring your curiosity and sense of adventure!

See you tomorrow!

🚨 Public Service Announcement 🚨

The Canadian Forces Snowbirds, alongside three RCAF CF-18s from 4 Wing Cold Lake, will be conducting a flyby today, at approximately 7:30 p.m. (PDT), for the David Foster Foundation 40th anniversary concert in Victoria, B.C.

The aircraft will fly over the Inner Harbour at an altitude no lower than 500 feet above the highest obstacle on their route. Flybys by RCAF aircraft are carefully planned and closely controlled for public safety, and are dependent upon weather and flying conditions.

The Canadian Forces Snowbirds demonstration team flies CT-114 Tutors. The Tutor was the primary jet trainer for the RCAF, and the aircraft currently flown by the Snowbirds are modified for show features and enhanced performance during low-level aerobatics.

The CF-18 Hornet is the RCAF’s frontline multi-role fighter, and is employed in many different capacities, including air defence, air superiority and tactical support.

The RCAF is proud to share in national events such as this, with flybys that allow us to demonstrate the capabilities of our personnel and aircraft to Canadians.
