Ever since we posted the video of our 1,000th Musetoba entry, hundreds* of people have been writing in and asking “what was the object and where did it come from?”

The object was a pocket sized lint brush from Narvey's Clothes for Men. Narvey's opened in Brandon in the summer of 1973 after having a successful store in Portage La Prairie. It operated in the 700 block of Rosser, between Eaton’s and the Royal Bank, until a fire broke out in May of 1976 and took out 5 businesses, Narvey's being one of them.

They relocated to the 900 block of Rosser, where Karla’s International Food is now, and stayed there until their closing in the summer of 1995. This piece was donated by the Wotton family.

Our sincere condolences to the family and friends of Douglas Brolund. He was a marvelous local artist, as many of you know, and a wonderful person to work with.

We are so fortunate that he, along with Linda Tame, agreed to do one of our first Show & Tell presentations with us back in May of 2023. He will be very missed in the community.
