New expo: From Brussels to NY to Mechelen by Jörg Madlener

Opening: Sunday 27 September 2026, 2-6 pm

After a long-standing relationship during which we continued to follow Jörg Madlener’s work, we are delighted to present a retrospective exhibition at TAO - Transit Art Office

Jörg Madlener is born in Germany in 1939, lived for 35 years in Belgium, and is now living and working in the United States. His paintings have been shown all over Europe and the United States and now again in Mechelen.

Transit/ TAO presents a retrospective exhibition of his works from 1983 to 2026. Join us on a journey through the artist’s career and his works, and discover his vibrant and contemporary world.

Nikita Kadan ‘Tryvoha’ in Unlimited, Art Basel 2026.
For Unlimited, Voloshyn Gallery presents Nikita Kadan’s sound installation Tryvoha (The Sirens and the Mast). The sound of Tryvoha recreates that of an air-raid signal-a familiar part of the current Ukrainian soundscape-through the voice of an opera singer. Viewers are invited to walk into the installation and experience the sound enveloping them from every side.
The act of walking through the sheer white curtain into the symbolic’state of anxiety’ and out of it again can be viewed as a metaphorical rebirth.
The audience gains an audio experience of a ‘war sound’ that signifies destruction, yet they listen to it in a safe environment, able to walk away from it unharmed. The installation consists of a large metal frame and rod, white fabric, and a recording of the opera singer’s voice emulating the siren.
Nikita Kadan (born 1982 in Kyiv) works with painting, graphics, and installation, often in collaboration with architects, sociologists, and human rights activists. He is a member of the artist group Revolutionary Experimental Space and Hudrada (Artistic Committee).
