Way back in the beginning.

The WA Surf Gallery opened in December, 2017. It took a core crew of five, with the incredible help and donations of the local surfing community, months to pull it together. Here are some of the behind the scenes shots.

Carrie Cox
All-star contributor

I know there are lots of John 'Budgie' Budge's friends and fans on this page, so just a little update to say it's his 95th birthday today and he's doing really well.
Still smart as a whip, irreverent and funny. Keeping up with the news on his iPad and listening to the ABC and classical music on his phone. He has a lovely sunlit room at his new home and though he misses the old Trigg/North Beach neighbourhood, he still feels very connected to it. Old age is throwing him some curve balls, but he's catching them with characteristic optimism.
Happy birthday to Budgie!

Thanks to Coast Whispers- Trigg, North Beach, Watermans Bay and surrounds Facebook Group
