If you've been in to Now and Not Yet in the last couple of weeks you will have noticed the wonderful student photography exhibition on the NaNY Gallery Warrandyte wall.

An annual competition hosted by Luther College, judged by acclaimed cinematographer and Luther College alumnus, Greig Fraser.

The exhibition showcases the work of 19 talented student finalists, with the Middle and Senior School winners selected by Greig Fraser himself.

Greig graduated from Luther College in 1993 under the mentorship of Rob Mau and entered RMIT to complete an arts degree majoring in Photography.

Over the years, Greig has received numerous accolades for his work in cinematography. He was nominated for an Oscar for Lion in 2017, won an Emmy for "Outstanding Cinematography for a Single-Camera Series (Half-Hour)" for Star Wars: The Mandalorian in 2020, and earned both an Oscar and a BAFTA Award for "Best Cinematography" for Dune in 2022. Most recently, Greig received another Oscar nomination for Dune: Part Two, which was announced in January this year.

Greig’s latest films include The Creator and Project Hail Mary and he is currently working on The Beatles biopics (scheduled for release in 2028).

Greig continues to be passionate about encouraging young people to become involved in photography and takes great pleasure in endorsing this award for Luther College students.

So if you haven't been in lately, pop in and have a look at this display of stunning photographs - its up until next Sat 3rd Oct.

We are so saddened to hear the news of the passing of Faye DePasquale. Faye was so generous in her encouragement and praise of other artists work. A legacy of incredible art and teaching. We loved that she had a 'retrospective' of sorts at NaNY Gallery. Sending our deepest condolences to all of Faye's family and friends. Tori & Jac xo
