🌟 Flashback Friday 🌟

Did you know a baby was once born at the Holden factory?

On 18 December 1973, Ana Maria Echegaray went into labour while working at the Pagewood Holden Factory in Sydney, giving birth to what became known as the “Holden Baby”! The remarkable story was featured in newspapers and in the Holden People magazine at the time, becoming a unique part of Holden history.

Recently, we were lucky enough to welcome that very baby - Maria Echegaray - to our museum during a special visit with her daughter. Maria shared her family’s connection to Holden, with both her parents having worked at the Pagewood factory.

It was wonderful to be able to show Maria and her daughter some of the history connected to their family story, and we thank them for visiting and sharing such a memorable piece of Holden history with us.

This week is National Volunteer Week, and we want to take a moment to recognise the incredible people who keep our museum running every single day.

From maintaining displays, to greeting visitors, helping behind the scenes, assisting at events and sharing their knowledge and stories - our volunteers are the heart of everything we do.

Their dedication, hard work and passion help preserve Holden history for future generations to enjoy. To all of our amazing volunteers: thank you for your time, your skills, your craziness, your humour and your ongoing support of the museum. Your contribution makes a difference every day.

Be sure to say thank you to a volunteer this week!

** Event Postponed **
Due to poor weather forecast this event has been postponed until next weekend

Unfortunately, it looks like God isn’t on our side this weekend 🌧️

Due to the weather forecast for this Sunday, we have made the difficult decision to postpone the Parnassus Country Family Day Out.

The event will now be held on Sunday the 24th of May.

We want to make sure everyone can enjoy the day safely and comfortably, and with the forecast looking the way it does, postponing is the best option.

Thank you all for your understanding and support — we can’t wait to see you all on the 24th for an even bigger and better day out 🤠🐂🚗
