Winter is no reason to hibernate!
Enjoy the mysteries and wonder of nature as you walk the acres of parkland, whether it be for a brisk walk or a slow meander there's always something interesting to see all year round. The jonquils are starting to come out too, standing proud in the winter garden.
Plus of course, there's the discovery of history, the echoes of pioneers going about their daily life in this fabulous heritage village.
There's a cafe, gift shop, tourist information, long vehicle parking and EV charging all right here at Old Gippstown.
Visit us Wednesday to Sunday 10am to 4pm, 211 Lloyd Street in Moe just off the M1 freeway behind McDonalds.

📸 Do You Love Photography, Cameras or Local History? 📸

Our volunteer curator, Jack, could use a hand!

Our fascinating Camera Exhibition at Old Gippstown is home to a wonderful collection of historic cameras, photographic equipment and stories from the past. We are looking for friendly volunteers who have an interest in photography, cameras, technology, or simply enjoy chatting with visitors.

As a volunteer, you could:
📷 Help answer questions and engage with guests
📷 Share stories about cameras and photography through the years
📷 Dust and ensure the exhibit looks great
📷 Learn more about photographic history and equipment
📷 Assist our much-loved volunteer, Jack, in keeping this unique display alive

You don't need to be a professional photographer—just someone with enthusiasm, a willingness to learn, and a passion for sharing history with others.

Whether you're retired, a keen hobby photographer, a member of a camera club, or simply looking for a rewarding way to give back to the community, we'd love to hear from you. You can drop into the office at 211 Lloyd Street Moe any day of the week (prior appointment might be required for Monday and Tuesday when we're typically closed to the public), you can call us on 5127 3082 or email [email protected] for further information and an application form.

Join our wonderful team of volunteers and help preserve and share the story of photography for future generations.

Did you see the steam train on the long weekend? Great fun for those on board. Thanks to our volunteer, Adrian, for capturing this great footage with the drone.

How'd you go with yesterday's Stranger Thing?
The Stromberg-Carlson Wireless Remote Control Unit from 1941 was an integral part of any military battle. This unit essentially functioned as a remote interface for a radio transceiver. It supported both Morse and voice communications, had telephone terminals and jacks for a microphone and headphones. The unit also contained a battery and was capable of sending signals to other operators or connect to a field switchboard.
Just one of the many military artefacts we have on display at Old Gippstown.
Open Wednesday to Sunday from 10am to 4pm.
