Old Gippstown is a heritage park built on 8 acres of landscaped Crown Land. It is unique in that 80% of its buildings are original (not purpose built). There are many artefacts that have been donated and are in the buildings and surrounds. It has one of the largest collections of horse drawn vehicles held in public hands. We are a deductible gift recipient, so donations of $2 or more to the Park are tax deductible. We also have a number of areas available for hire around our park, with prices available on request. Adult $15

Creating with your hands and finding your people along the way.

If you enjoy working with wood and you're looking for a place to exchange ideas, meet like minded people and put your interests to good use then consider joining the Latrobe Valley Woodturners and Wood Workers Club

The group meets three times a week inside Old Gippstown in their own clubrooms, you can make your own projects, learn new skills or help the park occasionally with their woodwork needs.

Join the Morwell International Rose Festival special tour with us on Saturday 7 November for a journey into Gippsland’s history. Wander through historic streetscapes, explore over 30 heritage buildings, admire classic vehicles, and visit one of Australia’s few surviving Cobb & Co Inns & our transportable gold rush building, Loren.

Tours are at 11.30am and 1.30pm

Our celebration of Seniors month today sees our volunteers and clubs hard at work showing off their skills and talking to guests. There's still time to get down and check out the park, chat to the LV Woodworkers & Woodturners or the Moe Old Gippstown Men's Shed and see their displays and products they work on each week.
Seniors are gold coin entry. Displays close at 2.30pm

Are you looking for a fun way to give your time to the community?
Give some thought to Old Gippstown as a Heritage Guide.
We are looking for people who are happy to dress in period costume and talk with our visitors about different aspects of the park.
No experience is necessary, we will teach you the history. You might want to play a banker or a police officer or maybe a fireman, you can create with old world skills or just amble around the streets visiting the different stores and interacting with our visitors.

Enjoy your day helping to preserve Gippsland's history for future generations.
Become a volunteer or Heritage Guide at Old Gippstown, our small band of volunteers could use your help to keep this community asset open to help teach future generations of children about how things were done back in the day.
You can become a Heritage Guide and help us teach school tours or you can garden, paint, chip in with the maintenance or just help keep the place looking great.
Many hands make light work as they say.
