Queensland Museum Cobb+Co houses the National Carriage Collection - Australia's finest collection of more than 50 horse-drawn vehicles from coaches, buggies and wagons to carriages, sulkies and carts. Get your hands on history at Queensland Museum Cobb+Co. It’s not just what you can see but what you can do!

•See and touch Queensland Museum objects and specimens in the new Heritage Bank Inquiry Centre.

•See regularly changing exhibitions in the Windmill Gallery.

•Get the behind the scenes story and join our free daily guided tour.

•Buy unique hand made gifts in the Museum Shop. Queensland Museum Cobb+Co is part of the Queensland Museum and is home to the National Carriage Collection which features nearly 50 horse-drawn vehicles including Cobb & Co coaches and the Rolls Royce of carriages, the landau. Other galleries feature extensive displays on the natural and cultural history of Toowoomba and the Darling Downs. Queensland Museum Cobb+Co's popular heritage workshops program includes one and two day weekend workshops in trades and skills such as blacksmithing, silversmithing, leadlighting, leatherwork, stonemasonry and copperfoiling. These workshops are conducted in the custom built factory area.

Whose stories are in the collection? And whose are missing? 👀

Dr Liz Bissell from Queensland Museum is joining the Guest Editorial team for a new special issue of Australian Feminist Studies exploring women's visibility across museums, heritage, culture and digital collections.

Revising the Record is looking for researchers, scholars and practitioners to contribute new
perspectives on collecting, preserving and representing women's, gender diverse and q***r stories.

Think feminist objects, women's stories in collections, gendered approaches to curating, Q***r and Trans histories, digital archives, mapping, social media, Wikipedia, FemTech and more.

We’re a little late to World Goat Day… 🐐

But when we discovered this, we figured it was worth the wait.

A four-goat team pulling a miniature Cobb & Co. coach, complete with children on board. Now that’s a GOAT team.

The photograph came to us from Rosewood Scrub Historical Society via a priest in Toowoomba — but that’s about all we know.

Can you help us fill in the gaps? Do you recognise the photo, the coach, the occasion or the people in it?

And this isn’t the last of our goat discoveries. Apparently, one goat post was never going to be enough. 🐐

Do you have a traditional skill, craft or trade you'd love to share with others?

We're seeking Expressions of Interest from talented artisans to deliver small-group Hands-On Workshops throughout 2027 and 2028.

From blacksmithing and leatherwork to weaving, woodworking and other heritage crafts, we're looking for passionate practitioners who can inspire and teach.
