Last week, three representatives from Destination NSW spent several hours photographing our precinct. This week, we were also featured in a post by Sydney. We certainly are getting around.
In 2022, we were part of the National Experience Content Initiative (NECI), a Tourism Australia project delivered in collaboration with Destination NSW. The shot used in this post was from that project and featured Lara Flanagan ( Notes From), along with Archie, Rosie, and Kevin. Lara was, and still is, one of our biggest supporters, even after moving to West Wylong!

Vibrant autumn foliage, heritage buildings, and national parks make Tenterfield one of the most scenic seasonal escapes in NSW.

The Railway Museum markets are done and dusted for April. The big question on everyone's lips is ... did we break the great sausage sizzle record? Well, almost!

The record is 154, we sold 117.5 which is an excellent attempt and thank you to everyone who helped us try and get over the line [pun intended].

Our next market is on Saturday, 6 June and we’d love to see everyone come visit and help us break this record.

Come meet our volunteers who will be more than happy to assist you with tea, coffee, softdrinks and water and of course, the ever important sausage.

Yes, it's that time of year again up here at the Tenterfield Railway Museum. So if you have nothing to do on the 8th April, come up and join us for our AGM.
Yes, we are looking for more volunteers, but if you would like to come and just see what we are all about, then please do. And if our volunteers can't tempt you, I'm sure the morning tea will!!

A reminder to our out-of-State visitors, north of the border and on the eastern coast, daylight savings time ceases this EASTER SUNDAY at 3.00 a.m. The time change is done at this odd hour to avoid confusing the Easter Bunny.

For the next 6 months those of us who live on the East Coast will all be on the same time zone.

So, there's no need to be disappointed when you arrive at the Museum believing you have more than an hour instead of a few minutes, to see all of its treasures.

Have a safe and Happy Easter.

IT'S BACK!

The Tenterfield Railway Station Museum great sausage sizzle sales record breaking attempt will be on again at the upcoming market this EASTER SATURDAY, 4TH APRIL.

The sausage sales record was set at the Christmas 2025 market numbering 155. An attempt was made at the February market. So many of you bought multiple sausages to help us over that line. We almost made it, 132.5 sausages were enjoyed by everyone.

There was a late entry with one of our wonderful volunteers providing a vegan sausage. The scrutineers counted said sausage as a .5, however, the provider lodged a late objection. It was his belief that the sausage should have been counted as 2 and not .5.

What say you dear followers? Should a vegan sausage be counted as 2, 1, .5 or none?

Let us know in the comments.

The market opens at 8.00 a.m. and finishes at 12 noon. Entry is free for locals for the duration of the market.

The Museum will close at 4.00 p.m. [ADST].

A HAPPY EASTER TO EVERYONE FROM THE VOLUNTEERS AT THIS EXTRA SPECIAL MUSEUM AND WE LOOK FORWARD TO BREAKING THIS RECORD.
