Our vibrant membership spans gifted artists from Tea Gardens, Hawks Nest and the Myall Coast region. The renowned Galleries in the Gardens not-for-profit art group, fondly known as ‘GIG’, is located in the picturesque ocean/river/bayside/village/semi-rural community of Tea Gardens on the Mid-North Coast of NSW. Its talented membership comprises skilled artists drawn from the region encompassing Karuah in the South, Bulahdelah in the North and East of the A1. You’ll see their creativity displayed at GIG’s home - The Gallery - a delightful, rejuvenated landmark cottage set within a lush garden, opposite the waterfront at 81 Marine Drive, Tea Gardens NSW. Here GIG presents major exhibitions and regular introductions of new works – including paintings, drawings, sculpture, ceramics, printmaking, photography, woodwork, jewellery & more. GIG has attracted two official acknowledgements in NSW Parliament for its outstanding community activity. Examples being the Galleries in the Gardens Student Art Award, the Anderson Art Award and Artspeak (regular gatherings designed to foster friendships between ‘like minds’, sharing knowledge and learning while working on your own art). Entirely run by volunteers, GIG and The Gallery has earnt its place as the area’s pre-eminent art group and location for a wide variety of quality artworks. Entry to The Gallery is free and the venue is wheelchair accessible. It is conveniently located amongst the waterside café strip and diagonally opposite the ferry wharf.
