Tia Ansell is included in Personal Effects curated by Chloe Jones at Heide Museum of Modern Art, on view 19 September 2026 – 29 March 2027.

Drawing on artefacts from John and Sunday Reed’s Personal Effects Collection, the exhibition places everyday belongings and the tangible traces of life at Heide in dialogue with contemporary creative practices that rework archives, translate personal histories, recontextualise found materials, and probe the instability of memory.

The exhibition includes works by Tia Ansell, Darcey Bella Arnold, Kirsten Coelho, Kate Daw, Teelah George, Zac Langdon-Pole, Nusra Latif Qureshi, Jacqueline Stojanović, Isadora Vaughan and Ella Wijt.

Upcoming:

LON Gallery presents Jeremy Eaton’s third solo exhibition with the gallery, Monkey Trick.

Please join us for the opening celebration on Saturday 17th of October from 4-6pm.

Monkey Trick is a series of new work by Jeremy Eaton that draws on motifs of the monkey, the office and the park in large-scaled collaged works indicative of his distinctive painterly approach to printmaking. This body of work diverges from Eaton’s recent enquiries into q***r history and his approach to reworking found imagery and archival material to focus on the material quality of his practice. Here he incorporates observed images of monkeys who reprise in offices, deer, hypnotic patterns and sunsets, which are set amid a series of rented office palms.

Monkey Trick toys with notions of labour, enclosure and the colonial underpinning of office environments, while drawing on numerous art historical references to singerie, Marcel Broodthaers Un Jardin d'Hiver (A Winter Garden), and Edvard Munch. These complex works technically push Eaton’s artistic approach and create a visually rich field of colour and texture, where meaning and signs layer with humour and sensuality.

We are thrilled to share that Ryan Hancock and Simon Zoric are included in the exhibition Shuffle, at Artbank Melbourne, on view between 7 September – 30 October.

Artbank Melbourne presents a selection of recently accessioned artworks, as they prepare to enter circulation, ready to be leased. Artbank is a unique program within the federal government, that supports living Australian artists by acquiring their work. Works are then leased to clients around Australia and the world to generate revenue as a self-sustaining artist support program.

As an extension of our visible storage model, the new acquisitions will be exhibited in our Melbourne gallery and replenished as they are leased. The exhibition is a temporary arrangement rather than a fixed position or statement. As these works lease, they will be replaced – or shuffled – with older pieces from our collection, presenting the exhibition in a perpetually changing form.

By bringing new art into dialogue with the old, Shuffle highlights the diversity of materials, breadth of practice, and artistic voices that comprise our ever-moving collection.

The exhibition includes works by: Gene A'Hern, Jacobus Capone, Hayley Panangka Coulthard, Sean Crowley, Mikala Dwyer, Amelia Gill, Dianne Ungukalpi Golding, Ryan Hancock, Joshua Harvey, Anna Higgins, Visaya Hoffie, Kez Hughes, Lucina Lane, Shannon Lyons, Tessa MacKay, Sam Martin, Ruth O'Leary, Madeleine Peters, Tom Phillips, Nina Radonja, Aisha Sherman-Noth, Armie Sungvaribud, Anne Nginyangka Thompson, Marian Tubbs, Alex Walker, Roy Yaltjanki, Simon Zoric

LON Gallery is pleased to present Soft, a major exhibition by Naarm/Melbourne artist Kate Ellis, with a new body of work that marks an ambitious continuation of the artist’s investigation into the unstable boundaries between human and animal, beauty and repulsion, care and violence.

Over three decades, Ellis has developed a distinctive language of hybrid and fragmented bodies. Her sculptures are at once alluring and unsettling, occupying ambiguous states that resist rationalised ideas of what a body should be. In Soft, these longstanding concerns are pushed into a new register through a heightened sense of scale, materiality and physical vulnerability.
Soft represents a significant moment in Kate Ellis’ practice; a culmination of ideas developed over decades, reconfigured at an ambitious scale and with a new intensity.

Kate Ellis holds a Bachelor of Fine Art from the Victorian College of the Arts and a Bachelor of Applied Science from the Lincoln Institute of Health Services. She has a significant exhibition practice, with solo exhibitions at many galleries including LON Gallery, CAVES, Arc One and Gertrude Contemporary Art Spaces. Selected group exhibitions include outings at Western Plains Cultural Centre, Spring 1883, Martin Brown Fine Art Sydney, Sculpture Square (Singapore), RMIT Project Space, Linden Arts Centre, Bundoora Park Homestead, Geelong Art Gallery, Swan Hill Regional Art Gallery, La Trobe Regional Art Gallery and Ballarat Art Gallery. Ellis was the Winner of the Deakin University Small Sculpture Award, the Darebin/LaTrobe Art Prize, and the National Gallery Women’s Association Award. Her work is held in the collections of several major institutions including Deakin University, Artbank and La Trobe University.

We are thrilled to announce that Stephen Benwell is included in the 2026 Dobell Drawing Biannual, ‘Near at Hand’ at the Art Gallery of New South Wales.

‘Near at Hand’ brings together 11 artists from across Australia who use a range of materials – pastel, pencil, watercolour, ceramic, light and thread – to channel drawing's intimate potential. For some artists, drawing encourages attention to the minutiae of the everyday, or close observation of the people and places that make up their worlds. Others draw to give shape to the elusive forms of their imaginations. For several artists in this exhibition, drawing is about the elaboration of a personal visual language.

Near at Hand: Dobell Australian Drawing Biennial 2026 will be on view at the Art Gallery of New South Wales from 12th September 2026 – 31st December 2026.

---

We’ll be presenting a selection of Stephen Benwell’s work alongside work by Adrienne Gaha and Kate Ellis at Sydney Contemporary 2026 from the 3rd – 6th September.

To request a preview catalogue of works from the fair, or for a catalogue of available works by Stephen Benwell, please contact the gallery via email or DM.

We are delighted to present an ambitious new sculpture by Kate Ellis, the most monumental the artist has made in close to a decade at Sydney Contemporary next week.

The work is a cumulation of extensive experimentation and research in the studio, incorporating a new hybrid material, situated somewhere between wax and stone. Supported by a gyroid PLA 3D printed structure, this new ambitious work amalgamates traditional sculptural techniques with new materials and scientific, research driven processes. It is both hauntingly timeless yet resolutely contemporary.

One Thing Becomes Another Again
Linden New Art
22 August - 8 November 2026

Sarah CrowEST’s ‘One Thing Becomes Another Again’ is the artist’s most ambitious project to date, encompassing painting, textiles, photography and sculpture to explore the transformative potential of language and materials, in dialogue with Linden's unique architecture.

In 2023 Linden New Art launched JUNCTURE, a major new art prize for Australian mid-career contemporary artists. Two artists are each awarded $20,000 to support their practice, and twelve months in which to develop new work to be presented as a solo exhibition at Linden New Art. The recipients of this year's award are Sarah CrowEST and Gian Manik.

As part of the exhibition, Sarah will be in conversation with curator Hamish Sawyer at 11:30 on 5 September.

Further details are available on Linden’s website.
