Blacktown City Lions will be conducting a fundraising BBQ at this year’s Streets Alive event on Saturday 30th May. Drop by, say hello and grab yourself a sausage on a roll and help us support our local community.

Were also supporting our sister city of the Liverpool Plains, whose Business Chamber will have an information stall promoting all things “Liverpool Plains” including their interactive Silo Art Light Show, Sunflower Festival and local attractions. If you haven’t visited the area drop past and grab some information and start planning your next regional road trip.

Some members and supporters are travelling to Blacktown to promote tourism in the Liverpool Plains.

Years ago, we created this charming float at the Heritage Village, to promote the Liverpool Plains in Blacktown, Sydney.

Sue Nichols Graham Bullock Tammie Clark and some LPSC staff will be promoting tourism in our Sister City again this weekend.

Our Village supports the Quirindi Show Society

For 125 years, local regional shows have been the heart of rural communities, bringing people together, celebrating agriculture, supporting local businesses, showcasing talent, and creating memories that last generations. Across Australia, agricultural shows continue to play a vital role in supporting regional economies, preserving traditions, educating younger generations, and strengthening community spirit.

The Quirindi Show Society is proud to continue this tradition as we celebrate the 125th Anniversary of the Quirindi Spring Show on 11th, 12th & 13th September 2026, 125 Years on the Plains.

From livestock competitions, pavilion displays, horse events, markets, showjumping and local exhibits, through to family entertainment, food vendors and community connections, our Show is so much more than just a weekend event. It is a celebration of our region, our people, and our rural way of life.

Events like the Quirindi Spring Show bring visitors into town, support local businesses, provide opportunities for volunteers and community groups, and give future generations the chance to learn, compete, and be proud of where they come from. Agricultural shows across Australia contribute significantly to regional communities and continue to be one of the biggest social gatherings in rural areas every year.
