Weekend Weather Forecast - Perfect conditions for a visit to Pomona Railway Station Gallery.
'A Family Affair' is cross-generational exhibition exploring identity, place and storytelling through diverse works. The exhibition features work by Cooran artist Mia Hacker, her mother, Gail Robinson of Pomona, and her aunt, Faith Robinson of Gympie.
'I Hear Birds' features the art of abstract expressionist, Makaella Conias. Totemic birds and trees recur as silent guardians to explore emotion, symbolism and movement.
3D Artist of the Month Barry Rosenberg invites visitors into the world of animatum, ruled by quirky, whimsical wooden figures, with some strong political punch and social comment.

The Gallery's inaugural Local Emerging Artist Prize has received some very positive feedback from artists, visitors and judges.
Our heartfelt thanks to everyone for their support, particularly our sponsors for their generosity to the gallery, participating artists and the broader community:
Cash Prizes - Hinterland Real Estate $2000, Eumundi Rotary Initiative t/a Eumundi Voice $1000 and Bendigo Bank Cooroy Branch $500.

Kathy Gallagher (centre), winner of the People's Choice Award section of the Gallery's Local Emerging Artist Prize, with her pastel painting, The Blue Umbrella, received her prizes today.
Sebastiaan van Heuckelum, Branch Manager of Bendigo Bank, Cooroy, presented Kathy with a $500 cheque and Sophy Yena, owner of the Tewantin Newsagency - Office Choice, presented a $300 voucher for art supplies.
Kathy's impressionist style painting won the hearts and minds of hundreds of people who visited the Local Emerging Artist Prize exhibition, part of the Gallery's 25th Anniversary celebrations this year.

Beauty and simplicity draws viewers into 'I Hear Birds', an exhibition by Makaella Conias, in the Banana Shed until November 4.
Makaella's deep connection with nature shapes her work, which is a heartfelt tribute to the Earth and its creatures.
An abstract expressionist, Makaella uses acrylic paint and ink to explore emotion, symbolism and movement.
Totemic birds and trees recur as silent guardians, connecting her identity with nature’s rhythms and expressing her belief in environmental preservation and harmony.
Her work is both a personal search for peace and a gentle invitation to reconnect with nature.

Like many of our volunteers, Martina Klinger prefers working behind the scenes to being in the spotlight.
Since joining the gallery in mid-2024 as a 3D artist, member and volunteer, Martina has become a valued contributor.
Drawing on her business experience, including running her own business, Martina enjoys meeting visitors—especially those from overseas, who give her opportunities to practise her German, French and Spanish.
With 10 years’ experience using Square, she also enjoys helping other volunteers learn the system and use it confidently.
She also loves applying her analytical skills to developing substantive reports for the gallery committee meetings.
