Local Emerging Artist Prize Exhibition is NOW OPEN!
The Prize is an important new initiative celebrating the galleryโ€™s 25th anniversary this year - and the talent, ambition and creative contribution of emerging artists in our region.

Budding local artists of all ages have the chance to win cash and prizes valued at more than $4,000, generously donated by local businesses.

The Prize aims to support both creatives and more seasoned artists who are not yet represented by major commercial or regional galleries.

Come and visit us at 10 Station Street, Pomona. Vote for the People's Choice Award.

Martin works in acrylics, oils and water colour and applies different genres to suit the subject of his work.

He started painting about five years ago with a small group that wanted to get creative at Noosa Menโ€™s Shed.

Amber Creswell Bell is recognised for championing and educating emerging and unrepresented artists.

The Encouragement Award winner will receive a 1:1 hour-long mentoring session, courtesy of Amber.

In 2021, Amber co-founded the National Emerging Art Prize (NEAP) with Michael Reid and has been curator of the NEAP since its inception. Sheโ€™s an author of books on the arts, a lifestyle writer, a public speaker, an artist mentor and an enthusiastic โ€˜creative hustlerโ€™.

Sara is one of very few remaining founding members and volunteers still โ€œworkingโ€ at the gallery. After an extended absence with family commitments, she returned two years ago.

โ€œI very much enjoy being here because I can interact with other artists, itโ€™s a delightful space to be in and a pleasurable way of giving back to the community,โ€ she says.

โ€œDefinitely, the best part is spending time with other volunteers and gaining a sense of community.โ€

A talented artist, Sara is particularly well known for her beautiful bird and human form paintings.

Noosa Regional Gallery director, ๐Œ๐ข๐œ๐ก๐š๐ž๐ฅ ๐๐ซ๐ž๐ง๐ง๐š๐ง, has a wealth of experience as a curator and artistic leadership.
While generously agreeing to co-judge the Local Emerging Artist Prize, Michael also will provide a studio visit to the overall winner of the prize to view and discuss their work.

As gallery director since 2018, Michael is known to thrive on innovation, diversity and creative collaboration. As well as providing creative vision and directing the galleryโ€™s contemporary exhibition program, he is curator of the regionโ€™s premier environmental art biennale, Floating Land.
