USE WORDS TO HELP YOUR VIEWER SEE

Writing about your artwork is not about trying to define its meaning. Rather it is opening pathways on which your viewer can travel to understand its formal and thematic ideas. The workshop starts with an intense practical criticism session where each participant’s artwork is discussed by the group. The questions generated are then your framework for writing objectively and with the viewer in mind.
This workshop will assist you in the writing of exhibition didactics, grant applications, exhibition proposals, and general marketing. Please bring up to 3 examples of your artwork to the workshop

Kevin Wilson is currently coordinator of Cooroy Butter Factory Arts Centre and has directed public galleries in Melbourne, Albury, Noosa, and Brisbane. He regularly writes essays and reviews for artists.
