Newstead Open Studios inaugural winter event! 18-19 July, 10am-4pm

Hot Chai from and if we are lucky hot soup will be served at 16a Lyons Street, Newstead where and are exhibiting. This is the perfect opportunity to take a break and recharge ready for more studios.

Touring the Newstead Open Studios art trail is a wonderful opportunity to step right into the beating heart of an artist’s private world, and find out. This season there are 13 artists showing in nine studios.

For more than a decade, artists of Newstead and surrounds have been opening their private spaces each year to a curious and delighted public. Following the map to 14 different studios in town, in the bush, down a dirt track, feels a bit like going on a treasure hunt, and there is plenty of treasure to be found. From the work itself, fresh from busy hands or dusted off from the back-catalog, to surprising conversations with makers, to the intriguing marvel of the various workspaces themselves, there is so much to discover.

Bring your friends, bring your kids, bring your questions. And bring your wallet… in case you find a treasure you just can’t leave behind.
