Congratulations to Stephen Jesic on being awarded a Medal of Excellence in the 16th annual Artists for Conservation Exhibition for Silent Watch (Kookaburra), and congratulations to the proud owners of this award-winning painting, which was sold at Morpeth Gallery. 🏅

This year’s highly regarded exhibition featured 174 artists from 17 countries. Following a very competitive jury process, only nine artworks were selected to receive Medals of Excellence—making this an outstanding achievement.

We are especially proud that only two Australian artists received this prestigious award: Stephen Jesic and Natalie Jane Parker, both resident artists at Morpeth Gallery. Both of their award-winning paintings were sold at the gallery.

A huge congratulations to Stephen and Natalie on this wonderful recognition, and to the proud owners of these exceptional, award-winning artworks.

What a wonderful investment in outstanding Australian artistic talent! 🎨👏

💙 The Gentle Giant of the Canopy! ✨

Whether you are an astute collector looking for your next investment painting or an art lover wanting to experience world-class wildlife art in person, this stunning ultra-realistic painting "Too Blue" by wildlife artist Garry Fleming www.morpethgallery.com/product/too-blue/ 🎨 is now on exhibition and we welcome you to view it.

It perfectly captures a bonded pair of Hyacinth Macaws (Anodorhynchus hyacinthinus) resting in a misty rainforest canopy.

These magnificent birds are the largest flying parrot in the world and aren't just a pretty shade of cobalt blue!

• The Strongest Smile in the Jungle: The bright yellow skin around their lower beak gives them a permanent "smile," but don't let it fool you! Their massive black beak delivers over 300 pounds of pressure per square inch—powerful enough to easily crack open hard coconuts, macadamia nuts, and Brazil nuts.
• Built for the Canopy: Look closely at the macaw on the left grooming its foot. Macaws have "zygodactylous" feet, meaning two toes point forward and two point backward. This specialized grip acts just like a human hand, allowing them to hold onto food or hang sideways and upside down with ease.
• Vocal Giants: Highly social and deeply devoted, these birds are famous for being incredibly loud! They use booming, harsh squawks to communicate across long distances in the wild, calling out to find their partners across the dense Brazilian swamps.

Sadly, these gorgeous birds are currently listed as Vulnerable due to habitat loss and historical illegal wildlife trade.

Masterpieces like Garry's remind us just how precious—and fragile—our natural world really is. 🌎❤️ View Thursday to Sunday 10am-4.30pm entry is free.
