Sketchley Pioneer Cottage & Museum is open to the public every fourth Sunday from10 am to 2 pm and offers group tours at other time by prior arrangement at 1 Sketchley Street, Raymond Terrace. Volunteers are there

on Thursday mornings from 9.30 am to lunch time. The Society's Research room at another location is open on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9.30 am to 2 pm at the end of the Rayond Terrace library building, 18 Sturgeon Street, Raymond Terrace in the CBD.

Looks like a good excuse to drive north.

You would have to be a blind Freddie not to notice the renovations to the front facade of Stroud’s Courthouse. A brand new front fence and gate with picket tops to now match the frieze under the gutter, a new paint job to the face wall, verandah posts, windows and front door and a new concrete apron onto the verandah. The arduous task of bringing those solid copper ‘Court House’ letters back to their original condition completed the task. Thanks goes to local handyman Alan Munro for all the hard graft and to MidCoast Council for footing the bill! A prelude for the upcoming Bicentennial next year maybe?
